With the impending start of the Olympic Games, Knights of Old has
been working closely with organisations such as TFL (Transport for
London) and LOCOG (London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games) in
order to ensure operations run smoothly.
A lot of information has been published and we have been working hard
to condense it and produce this Olympic Planning Guide. We have done
this by setting up an Olympic Planning Team who will be on hand for all
enquiries from now until the end of the games.
One of the biggest challenges to both customers and operators is
understanding how deliveries can be achieved with minimum disruption. It will require good collaboration between all parties and regular communication.
Key Dates:
Opening of Olympic Village: 13 July
Olympic Games: 27 July - 12 August
Paralympic Games: 29 August - 9 September
Olympic Route
The Olympic Route Network (ORN) has now been published and can be viewed on the TfL website: http://www.tfl.gov.uk/corporate/projectsandschemes/18196.aspx. Heavy congestion is to be expected on the ORN during both the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Please click here for our Map of Affected Areas within a 5 mile radius of the ORN
Delivery Options
There will be NO deliveries on the ORN between 06:00 and Midnight at any point during the games.
To enable us to maintain as normal service as possible, we are looking to offer a Night Time Delivery Service.
This will be between the hours of midnight to 6am Monday – Friday and
we will be following the TfL Quiet Delivery Code of Practice (CoP) (www.tfl.gov.uk/2012outofhoursdeliveries)
In order to make deliveries within these strict time frames we will not be able to offer fixed bookings. The
potential increase in traffic during the night will no doubt cause
difficulties and we will all need to be as flexible as possible.
If you require a day time delivery away from the ORN we will
endeavour to facilitate this for you under normal services, although
these could be affected by additional congestion.
A normal next day service will not be offered to any delivery points
along or adjacent to the Olympic and Paralympic Route Network (ie.
Collect day 1, deliver between midnight and 06:00 day 2), unless by
special arrangement. Standard next day services to these areas will be
considered: Collect day 1, deliver between midnight and 06:00 day 3.
Restrictions & Requirements
