Knights of Old Ltd has recently increased its fleet with the addition of both Rigid and Articulated vehicles.
The last four months have seen the company’s fleet increase with 12 Rigids, 12 tractor units and 27 trailers. Of the 12 rigids, ten are 18 ton and two, which are in Partnerlink’s livery, are 26 ton. The remainder of the new fleet incorporate Knights of Old’s new livery.
All of the rigids, which are equipped with tailifts, will be running from the Kettering depot covering local collections and deliveries, while the majority of the new tractor units and trailers will be running from the company’s Essex operation.
Paul Abbott, Operations Director, Knights of Old said: “The investment in new technology is vital in keeping the company moving forward. Not only do the new vehicles have environmental advantages but our clients benefit from new vehicle reliability.”
The company has recently won new contracts and has gained further business from their existing clients which led to the purchase of the additional equipment. Abbott continued: “Winning new business in the current economic climate is great news and the investment in additional Rigids, tractors and trailers has increased our capacity.”
All of the new vehicles are of Scania’s R Series which feature the Euro 5 Engines which help to accommodate customers’ requirements. Abbott concludes: “Over the last few years we have seen a change in the demands our clients expect from Knights of Old and its fleet and the environmental gains from the Euro 5 Engines help to meet their needs.”
